Folks, I manage a thrift store who's sole purpose is to fund an org that feeds the homeless here in Knoxville, TN. Over 1000 meals a day are given to the homeless, battered women, and families that are staying at the shelter. This job ignited a desire I have had for many years, To send supplies to missionaries so that they could in turn BLESS their people and community (seed to the sower). It is a joy to send these boxes out knowing that they will be received with joy. If you want to experience it, get a box, and fill it with some good clothes, and ship it to a missionary like the Alvears or Bro Strange. It will cost about $100 to send it. I spoke to a former merchant marine about shipping companies that might give you a reduced rate or ship for charity. He said you should contact shipping brokerage houses at a port near you and talk to them. He also said you might consider talking to the US military and charity shipping organizations.
