Legalism creeps into the fray and ruins all of this when people think that God is pleased and deems one righteous if one DOES CERTAIN acts of righteousness. We must commit deeds of righteousness, sure. But they do not award us good standing with God. They are done BECAUSE we already have good standing with God, and HIS GOODNESS lives through us.
