I can't say for sure whether it is or not. i would be scared senseless to do it.
But one thing I can say for sure is this.
When you asked this question back on 9/29/2008... sitting here today I can tell you for SURE that that would NOT have been a good time to fund an IRA.
I am hoping that people will calm down over the weekend and things will chill out.
Only time will tell.
I pull ALL of my 401k's out of stocks about 6 months ago and I am VERY happy that I did so.
If I had any confidence that we were going to recover I would certainly enjoy a windfall by getting back in now...
I just can't muster up that confidence at this time.
