Re: What are you? One stepper or Three stepper

Your comments are very good Sam.

Well, concerning TFT -- It has been more than 6 years since I have spoken to him, but I did work for him while I was in college. On the weekends, I would drive him to various preaching engagements in TX, LA, AR, and MS.

To make a long story short, one day we were listening to a preaching -- he use to listen to sermons from all types of different preachers and one man used Martin Luther as example. It was a vivid example and I was greatly impressed. I asked TFT, Bro. Tenney I love the Acts 2:38 message and thank God that I have experienced it. However, what of a man like Martin Luther? He replied with great severity and said -- "We leave him in the hands of God. He came out of much" He then went on to describe how old timers of the Acts 2:38 message believed in the Light doctrine. He did this all in the third person. With his words he never denied the essentiality that he felt for Acts 2:38, but he expressed the great mercy of God towards those who do not know it and yet have faith in Jesus Christ.

No real problem exists over the use of "The Name" in everthing else done in the Church. Why then should there exist great controversy over the use of the "The Name of the Godhead" in water baptism?
