Speaking as one who has this condition, I can attest to the fact that it IS important.
As I recommended on another forum, and H1 has recommended above... talk to your doctor about your symptoms and ask him is a sleep study is in order.
Sleep apnea can kill you...
A sleep study saved my life... I was falling asleep at stoplights, at my desk at work, any time I was still for more than 5 minutes, I was close to passing out form exhaustion.
A sleep study confirmed what I already had suspected, that I had sleep apnea... and as a result of the study, the doctor got me some relief.
