Because being eaten alive by your friends isn't the best way to spend your time...

My friends from church never knew. Of course, as time went on those friendships drifted and my new friends knew the full extent of my lifestyle. It helped that I moved several times during the time I was drifting further and further away from God.

It took me quite a few months after coming back to church before I started picking people I felt I could trust (only online too). And even then no one knew the full extent of anything. At this time, only 3 people know that.

I never did tell my first pastor anything about this. I heard enough from the pulpit to know that'd be a *very* bad idea.

As far as being the worst sin, no it's not. As far as being powerful, it definitely is. I can't say that God delivers from homosexuality because I just don't know. Maybe someday I'll be able to say that He does. I know that it'd fit with His character and His desire for His people. But I'm not going to say that I've been delivered just because I've made a choice to no longer live that way. I can't change some things, only God could do that.

God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we're in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ. ~Romans 3:24 from The Message
