Thanks everyone! I have heard this terminology and felt I knew what it meant and you have confirmed this for me. It's just that I have always associated this with the secular world. I wonder if marketing and making money has caused some Christian writers to misrepresent themselves to the public. When I read a book and it says that a certain person wrote the book, I am getting an impression of that person and judging them to be a very articulate and creative writer. Shouldn't they at least acknowledge that although it is their life experiences or thoughts, the book is being written for them by someone else?
I think this is the world very well rooted in the church!
