Williams' argument is fully validated in the Financial Report of the United States, a little-known report Congress has mandated that the Treasury Department publishes each year, reporting the federal budget on a GAAP accounting basis, not on a cash accrual basis.

.....

"Even worse," Williams continued, "the U.S. Government's negative net worth widened to $49.4 trillion in 2005. For the first time, total government liabilities have topped $50 trillion, and the number is continuing to grow. The United States is bankrupt, whether the Bush administration wants to admit it or not."

Can you show your source for the 900 million given to Hamas? I'd like to know more about it.

You posted Bush budget figures as deficit figures.

I suspect you have no idea what they leave out of that number? for example. In magnifying the 2008 budget, they include SS payout commitments for their net present values down the road and omit future contributions and their net present values.
1 little example. If I am 48 today, they tell me my ss for my 68th year will be 55,000 becuse inflation will make it go up. My ss for my 69th year will be 55,750 or in net present value amounts assuming 3% yields, let's say 17,983. So if we crate a spread sheet for future expenditures and impute net present values and discounted interest and leave out net present values for future earings, we get a large number.

that comes back to the 2 words that i highlighted called cash accrual. Those are not together. it is cash or accrual. Not cash accrual. Politicians also do not really employ actuaries and use accepted accuarial tables.

When I was younger I was taught how to write computor programs to create mathematical models for forcasting.
