Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
Mt 3:6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
Mr 1:5 And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.
What do you think about the "for" in
Mark 1:4. It is the same Greek word we find in
Acts 2:38 for the word, "for". Does it mean "because of" or "in order to"?
Please consider that John's baptism was different from our baptism. Those being baptized repented and confessed their sins while in the river. It was a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
