That is untrue. He did not say as much. What he said was that the doctor would be involved with end of life discussions. This includes discussions about living wills, making a close relative or a trusted friend your health care proxy, or talking about hospices and such among the lawyer and the patient. This already happens, only now the doctor will be able to listen in and recommend things to the patient. The AARP supports this provision, btw:
