The point is that the Republicans are trying to kill a public option in the healthcare bill because private insurance companies supposedly can't compete with gov't run healthcare plan.
Fed-Ex and UPS sure do a good job competing with the Postal Service don't they? Private business is not only competing with a gov't run entity but beating them. The three of them competing in that environment makes it cheaper for you and I to ship things.
