It seems to make sense, but if he did that, people would say that he was WAY too defensive and if he was innocent he would just let God be his defense. I mean, I've actually heard people say, "Wow, all that guy does is defend himself...sounds guilty to me."
In fact, people in the sports world constantly say that about Roger Clemens, in his steroid case. He never stops defending himself. But they also condemn Barry Bonds for
never defending himself.
In the end, people are going to condemn no matter what. It's our human nature. But I would just hope those that have been "filled with the Holy Spirit" which is more powerful than our human nature, would put aside the condemnation. Obviously, I'm hoping for too much.
