And the whole concept of every animal hibernating reeks of the "appearance of time" argument used by nearly all young earthers. Even modern bears only hibernate for a couple of months during the coldest Winter months (which is all their body fat they spent the previous year storing will allow) and even then they are not literally asleep the whole time but frequently stirring and stretching their muscles.

Your argument assumes a naturalistic approach to bible stories.
The flood is in the bible, not in history books or science journals. It's a biblical account that assumes a Supernatural element. So then why could not God make the animals hibernate
