When I came to Ohio in 1957, my pastor was F.E. Curts (not Kurts) who was the Dist. Supt. of Ohio.
If you were preaching back in 1953, you must be uh, uh, how do I say this, um, um, an elder by now?

It is Ron Newstrand and Lois Dyer and they did marry. Pastor ed in Newark, OH for 35+ years. Retired and live part time in Franklin and attend West Nashville when in the area.
My dad has a great quote from Bro. Curts. He went to a ministers meeting with my grandfather Howard Dyer in Cincinnati one year. Bro. Curts said a woman approached him and asked him "Bro Curts why can't I wear my earrings if you are going to wear a tie tack?" Bro. Curts said. "Lady, the day your ear lobes lop over into your gravy is the day you can start wearing earrings!"
My dad thought that was a hilarious as well as an astute answer.
