But if he is, he won't be the first preacher who has engaged in this type of behavior.
If you listen to what he said, he said that he was not the man being portrayed on TV and he did say that he was going to fight it. That could mean a lot of things and certainly doesn't mean that he is innocent. His words need to be compared to others in similar situations who first denied then when the truth came out, they were guilty. Once again, I hope he is not one of them. It just doesn't look like that to me. Those of you who have no close friends in different cultures really won't have a clue as to what I'm saying. Again, I'm not saying it's widespread, I'm saying it's been more common than what some believe.
It's too late pray for his innocence.....I pray for truth to prevail. I just really hope that truth vindicates him!

No, originally you said you know of this going on in the lives of several
BLACK preachers. Here, you just say, "preachers". There was a clear racial distinction, and the implication was, this happens in the lives of black preachers and seemed to imply that it's not as common in the lives of preachers of other races. Did I understand that incorrectly? If so, I'll cease and desist. But if that's what you meant......wow. I see Eddie Long, here, as a human being who is a pastor. His race seems completely irrelevant.
There are numerous possibilities as to what his "perfect man" statement could have meant and his lack of complete denial. He may have been referring to his guilt in using a lack of discretion of maybe getting too close to these boys, in the lack of wisdom in sending pictures by cell phone....and who knows....Long is a physical fitness freak...maybe in a discussion he was encouraging someone to take care of himself and sent a picture to show the benefits, that at the age of 57 he looks like he does. Maybe. We don't know. And until we know, I would think we would uncover every possibility of innocence so as not to "rejoice not in another's iniquity."
