This is "so common" because it's so easy to fake - and many "charismatic" (and "Apostolic" and "Pentecostal") types refuse to learn.
Just have some poor suffering sot lie on a table and pull their shoe off until it's declared to be at a length which is "even" to the other.
I saw this gambit being done at the first UPC camp meeting I had ever attended. Lame.
Only our "Code of Silence" allows this fraud to persist.
