Re: Are We Eating Too Much?

I read this scripture a while ago and I think it pertains to the question posed on this thread... basically it is it a sin to be "fat"? Or, are we eating too much?
Luke 21:34-36 "Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkeness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worth to escape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of Man."
Definition of SURFEIT
1: an overabundant supply : excess
2: an intemperate or immoderate indulgence in something (as food or drink)
3: disgust caused by excess

Evidently surfeiting must have been something Jesus was concerned about, because he lumped it right in there with drunkenness, and cares of this life..... and he said it would be a snare upon all them that dwell on the face of the earth.

Sigh... I need to lose some weight and stop surfeiting... LOL! Anyone else feel the same way?
