Not my flavor, but not what I thought when I read the clipped lyrics.

The entirety of the lyrics reinforces the thought expressed in the finale which I posted. It leads up to it. Also, nobody just sits and reads lyrics for its own sake. People LISTEN to the song, and how phrases are sung and repeated, combined with the musical arrangement that supports the various parts, creates a heuristic effect.
And the heuristic effect of that song is NOT to promote holiness.
