Matthew 27:51 (KJV) And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; 52 And the graves were opened; and *many* bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

So in verse 52 it says MANY bodies of the saints which slept arose, why not all?

This is a stark reminder that once saved always saved is a false teaching. All those who entered into a covenant relationship with our Heavenly Father did not follow the commandments outlined by those covenants. All of the patriarchs and forefathers were our examples and had life and death laid before them. It was the wise saints who chose life. Paul shows in Corinthians that not all who were baptized by the Red Sea pleased God. They are the ones left in the graves for final judgment.

1Corinthians 10:1 (KJV) Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
