Deut 6 says that the law of God would be as frontlets between the yes and bound to the hand. Some Jews literally put phylacteries on their forehead and hands.
God told Moses that people must love the Lord with heart, soul and might. Spirit soul, and body. And binding it to your forehead meant dedicating your will to obedience of God's law and the hand stood of committing your body to carry it out in your obedience.

Satan had counterfeited the worship to God as worship to a beast. Satan has his answer to God's law. That is rebellion and symbolized by the mark of the beast in the forehead or hand, as opposed to God's law there.
You've actually got the entire Exodus pattern of events in Revelation, including the beast, its image and the mark. The Lamb's blood redeemed Israel out of Egypt and we read of that in
Rev 5.
You've got the plagues similar to the Exodus wrath on Egypt.
And even the image of the beast being worshiped with satan's answer to God's law on theforehead and hand. And as Moses stood on Sinai and told those who were on the Lord's side to come to him, the 144,000 stand with the lamb on ZION. Rev 14 says that BABYLON IS FALLEN, while the 144,000 STOOD on ZION with the Lamb.
Exodus would end with Israel buildings temple in Jerusalem generations later, and Rev ends with the NEW Jerusalem, the bride in symbolic form, being established.
When you see this pattern in Exodus and Revelaiton, and then stop and think about a computer chip, vaccine or UPC code thought to be the mark, those things become quite ridiculous.
