The Outsiders

Tonight ABC is airing a new program called The Outsiders. Not certain if all the episodes are on the same content, but tonight it is about the struggles and temptations of Amish teens. Here is part of an article on ABCNEWS.com about the topic.

The Outsiders: Teens Caught Between Freedom and Faith
Amish Adolescents 'Run Around' Before Committing to Church or Leaving Community
By SAMANTHA WENDER and KATIE ESCHERICH
June 24, 2008

Adolescence is typically a time of experimentation and testing boundaries, but if you're an Amish teenager, you're faced with a confounding choice between family or isolation, tradition or the modern world, faith or uncertainty.

For the past year, ABC News has had unprecedented access into the lives of a group of Amish adolescents at a crossroads, as they come of age and decide their future.

Here is the actual article:

Tell us what you all think about this...

Re: The Outsiders

I have been fascinated with the Amish for years. I have a couple books on them and think their dating rituals are interesting. We have an Amish community 20 miles from here in Lawrenceburg, TN. We went over and drove thru--it was like going back in time. I will have to see if they have the show on the computer tomorrow. I would like to see it.

Re: The Outsiders

I live in Pulaski. I wish we lived the other way Sherri, I saw you all have a church that way and we could go there.

We have churches in Henderson, Corinth, Savannah, Cordova and Jackson right now. We will soon have one in Southern Illinois, I think (pending). We would love to start one in Dyersburg one of these days. Not sure how far that is from you.

Re: The Outsiders

Pulaski is actually back towards Huntsville, AL, about 45 miles north, 22 miles over the TN Line.
