Is happening right now. They decided to have it in January...kinda strange but at least the kids will already be out of school

Are they gonna have folks at the door to:
wash off any makeup
remove any nail polish
sew up or pin up slits
distribute shawls to cover cleavage
measure sleeve length and skirt length
and check for and enforce other "holiness" standards

Sam, Sam, Sam! You are confused! He said this was the SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Youth Convention. You are thinking about the WESTERN District.

So what are some of the things that go on at a "District Youth Convention"? What would be an example of some sermons or special classes given?

I really am genuinely curious.

Just heard from a Pastor in attendance that tonight was AMAZING!!! God really moved in a mighty way. So good to hear.

PRAX...many other district's have a Holiday Youth Convention instead of what we used to have (combined Western District) during Spring Break.

OH...also wanted to address something else that was brought up a couple weeks ago in regard to this Youth Convention (SoCal):

1) There was some report about how the District Youth President did not want "any rules or standards" for this convention...specifically about dress. The poster/promotion given out to churches states that the day classes are casual and the evening services are dressy.

2) There was some statements about "make-up being allowed on the platform." This is NOT the case. There are some of our young people who are praise singing for one of the services and was told of the platform guidelines that would be adhered to....including girls not wearing make-up.

3) There was statements referring to the theme of the conference taking on an "emergent church" philosophy and even referenced "rainbows at either end of the conference title." I happened to see all of the convention promotions, and have yet to see "rainbows." Furthermore, there is more to the word...ORGANIC...which I will get and put on here.

Let me make some amendments....

1) The "rainbow" refers to something on their website promotion which shows a wavebehind the logo for the convention....but hardly anything to read "emergent"

2) The Theme is "ORGANIC.....(Living. Growing. Showing)"

If you take a look at what the word ORGANIC means...and see the three words below the title...it looks like the theme will be centered around getting ourselves right...living right, growing in the Lord, and showing others Christ...that it affects and becomes who we are as organisms.

OK then. At least we aren't dealing with that synthetic stuff.
