Exclamation Please pray for this trouble boy

I have a friend that I have been witnessing to and trying to get her son some much needed help. I thought that if I could prayerfully get the parents to consider their son more in the choices they make and get involved with the things he likes this would help start the healing process.
A lot of people have given up on this boy, including his parents. It was not until yesterday that I discovered some of the hurtful things he has done to the "woman" around him... I know it comes from deep, deep pain. I told his step dad that he needs more than just a little forgiveness but also a lot of prayerful guidance, love and help. I told him that he needs to work through the issues he has with his parents with a loving counselor. Not one that will pop him full of pills (like the last one)

I work in the youth, so I had been hoping that surrounding him with some new friends and personally (my husband and I) supporting him could really make a difference. Now I don't know what we should do. I know the Lord is the ultimate counselor, he could loose him from his pain and chains and that is what I so hope for him!
Please help me pray for this boy and his family.

Kelly,

I will join with you in prayer but I must caution you that with love there has to be very strong boundaries and personal accountability for this boy. You cannot judge parents by the words of the boy. Sounds like he is deeply troubled.

I will remind you that counselors do not prescribe medications, they counsel. If the boy is on medications he may have been referred to a Psychiatrist who does not counsel but puts on meds prescribed by symptomotolgy such as a family doctor would do.

Pray, love, and quide with strong boundaries for accountability but do not counsel the boy siding against the parents or the medications he is on. Leave those things to professionals.

Agreeing with you in prayer for the best interest of the boy.

In Jesus name, Rhoni

Kelly,
Sorry if I sounded 'preachy'. It is so difficult on parents when they have a mentally ill child, whether from former abuse , genetic inheritance, or just because. I will pray for the family also, that God will give wisdom and direction.
Blessings, Rhoni
