Christian dramas to secular songs

I was against this concept when I first saw it on YouTube until I found this group. I think that it's an interesting idea and they pull it off well. I suppose that it's also a method of outreach to those who don't listen to Christian music. What say ye?

A little corny IMO, I'm not sure exactly how that one brought folks to Jesus, (maybe I missed something), but hopefully it did somehow.

Re: Christian dramas to secular songs

It takes something they are familiar with and places upon it an application to God. They may leave the place untouched but now a song they might hear while going down the road has a message attached to it that God can use to speak to them through that would have never touched them in that way before.

Now... for those people... when a secular station spins that song... they might become a tool to speak to people that would not have been possible before.

How different is this from Paul using the text of the pagans own idol to preach to them Jesus?

I agree with you.

Back when this song was popular, it seemed to be everywhere. How awesome would it be for someone to be in a club or other secular setting, hear this song, and be reminded of a drama like this?

Re: Christian dramas to secular songs

I wrote a drama we performed at our church recently and I integrated several secular songs. I used prison as a metaphor, and chose songs that I found fit the drama on an emotional level. A few Coldplay songs, a Beck song and a mostly instrumental snippet of a Nine Inch Nails song (I was iffy on that one, but it packed a punch instrumentally that I couldn't resist).
