Dear friends in the Homeland

And friends you are…my heart is overwhelmed with deep gratitude how you have sacrificed and helped us on our journey in the states. By the time you receive this we will be back in Brazil working for our lovely Lord.

The first thing I want to mention is Gabriel’s great victory. We were really frightened and worried beyond words since 3 doctor’s had told us the exact same thing in Brazil advising us to urgently get him to the sates as his heart was making an abnormal sound. I don’t know where the miracle happened but somewhere between his last doctor’s visit in Brazil and the doctor’s visit in the states the strange sound was gone and the sound was normal. To me I was so shocked even though I had asked for a miracle I felt kin to the people praying for Peter’s release and when he stood knocking they could not believe it was he standing there. I too was just was speechless. Finally it sunk in that God had done it again!
We were so certain that he would need another surgery that Brother Alvear had already flown back to the USA to be with me for he was sure I could not take the news we would hear…Most know we have raised Gabriel since he was a baby. He is more like our baby than even a grandson.

Brother Alvear was able to attend our regional convention in Maceio where he ordained 9 new preachers and baptized 8 precious souls. At the present we are seeing another daughter work being built in Maceio. Recently two new churches joined our efforts in Maceio area.

In June we will be going to south Brazil for our minister’s meeting and a special services to celebrate 42 years on the mission field. From there we will make a trip to Paraguay to visit the works in far south and the little work in Paraguay. Stopping by the Navirai area hoping to have the building started by then. We just got our blueprint drawn up so we are marching forward.

Brother Arlei just had one more baptismal service in the jungle area. We plan to go up there in July if the Lord provides the funds. We will dedicate one more church up that way.

We would like to thank those that have helped us and if you have promised to help we will be putting the down payment down on a car in Brazil. Several have helped and several have said they want to help us so this month if you can help in any way we would be deeply thankful. We want to thank those that have already helped toward this project and we hope not only to have the car by next month but also to put a picture in our newsletter of the car. Also thanks to Elder Holmes for helping our son in law also. Most of you know he too had a round with the bandits.

At this writing pastor Hugo is traveling visiting churches in south Brazil and reports many blessings from the Lord in those areas.

Your love and faithfulness have blessed us and we are so thankful to have such faithful people praying far us and supporting our ministry to Brazil. Thank you your investment into eternity!
