I saw a big wooden sign right next to an "Adult Store" the other day. It said in big letters: "Porn hurts everyone". Hopefully it made people stop and think before entering that store.
Those stats don't surprise me. Pornography is easily accessible in our technological society, plus there is a large mindset out there that doesn't think it's wrong.

The easy porn of nowadays absolutely terrifies me. Think of how things were before the advent of television. They wouldn't show Elvis gyrating on the Ed Sullivan show. Look at the collective thought process of the larger world and how it has changed and it is becoming more monolithic by the day. God only knows where this porn culture is going to lead us.

As far as we are willing to follow. The internet is by far worse than TV at this point. Yet we don't hear it preached against often nough.
The vice is more prominent perhaps, but we are fooling ourselves if we don't think there were just as many sexual addictions and lust 1,000 years ago.
Of course by "imagination," this would lead to a vocal injunction to prohibit television.

I don't see imagination in this text, but the minister's point is still a solid one. In an age of visual stimulation at an all-time high, the imagination is perhaps in over-drive. But I'm not sure. In Islam, where the women are completely covered, if they don't lust after skin-tight jeans, it will be after a flash of an ankle. That's all it takes to get the imagination going. Some could argue there's very little imagination these days lol Lust is all about having something you can't have, overcome with an urge to get what you want. It's not merrily skin-based.
I am not suprised by any of the facts presented on that site. I'm 23 and in college. Mentions of porn are commonplace. In fact, those that have not seen porn are BY FAR the minority. Many of the girls I know have also seen porn. I only talk about people seeing porn because no one makes it known how often they have seen it. Oh, and just to put things in perspective, one of my friends I work with, SHE is amazed that one of the women there has never seen porn before.

It isn't anything new. The desire has always been there in the human imagination, when the daguerreotype (first camera) was invented for every photographer taking pictures of dead bodies on civil war battle fields there were a couple of more taking plates of another variety.
And those guys filming the old silent movies were filming alot more than the Keystone Cops.
Even all the way back to Roman times... there are a whole bunch of murals from Pompeii that is never going to make it to the public displays in the museum.
The problem today is that it is so easily accessible.
