Pay Per View Live Preaching For $1.99 ? ? ?
So I was checking my email and I subscribe to a number of Apostolic Pastors / Churches via email to get updates on whats going on in their local congregations. Today I get an email that said Pay Per View for $1.99 to hear Noel Jones preach at Mark Tolberts church (its a PAW / Pentecostal Assemblies of the Word Church). I'd like to know what do you think about this "new" method of......well......you fill in the blank.
Attached is a copy of the ad.

Disgusting to me -- if it needs funding, get those funds another way. Making people pay to hear about Jesus is asinine.

Why? We charge for original music, don't we? Hey, I mean, a buck-99 for the Prince of Peace or whatever it is he called himself. Sounds like a deal!

Almost every Church I ever heard of either takes or accepts offerings. I would consider it a blessing to find a Church that was PREACHING TRUTH and I could join them online for 1.99.

Pay per veiw preaching? No. But then again, sign of the times. I was at a church recently when, during the offering, givers were "invited" to visit the ATM in the lobby to make donations. Whats next, convieniently swipe your card in your seat? Sign of the times.

Gotta draw the line somewhere.
I actually would LOVE to see christian/ministry artists funded other ways than the same game that record companies play. Conflict of interests.
And a published work like an artist's album versus a live stream are different things. What's the point of the Live Stream? Why offer it? To profit? To "spread the Gospel?" I think the answer to that question, and the order of priority will help that person decide if they should charge or not. Just sounds sick to me.... can't imagine JC charging his Disciples annual dues, and extra for the Sermon on the Mount since it was a bit longer.
