Since some of you know sister Myra Loy Taylor and know her and Brother Taylor yesterday was her birthday...my letter to her....( I grew up in their church and went to school at Brother Holmes) Both are long family friends.
“Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.” (
Prov 31:25).
My queen: Sister Myrna Loy Taylor
I have known a queen all my life…some people never know one…I knew her when she was young and the sun was still rising in her life…She gracefully raised her children, was a pastor’s wife, a home keeper, a church mother and to my sisters and I she was our secret queen!
I watched her as the sun grew higher and life’s battles raged. She never lost her optimistic spirit even when life dealt its blows. She smiled through it all.
I grew from childhood to a teenager. She was still a queen! Life’s span added another year this month and I cast a glace at the sun. She is not a young queen anymore yet she still is a true queen…full of grace and characterized by godly charm. It seems life only makes her shine more!
Her songs are the songs I listen to everyday. Her CD’s are in my room, in my car and on my computer! She speaks to me everyday. Her voice is like an angel singing from above. I never grow tired of hearing her sing.
To me she is a gift more precious than gold. Her love to us taught us how God loves.
I did not realize what it took to be a queen when I was young…you seldom realize that when you are put with royalty at a young age like I was.
Her steadfast love was fashioned by the angels
and sent from God above. It has been the glue that has helped hold me steadfast on the mission filed for many long years.
If virtue, kindness, faithfulness, joyfulness had a name it would be Sister Myrna Loy Taylor! She is all this and much more.
You see it was at an early age we were brought into the home and life of a king and a queen…Rev. Bryan and Sister Myna Loy Taylor. I love them more than any other!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY QUEEN…OUR QUEEN….WE LOVE YOU.
