Oneness Convention 1933 Iowa
Twenty-one ministers and 54 lay
delegates representing eight states
are attending the annual convention
of the Ministerial of Oneness Brethren
now in session dally at the Pentecostal
Assembly on East First
street. The convention commenced
Sunday and will end Sunday, April
23. Attendance at the convention is
expected to reach its -peak Saturday
and Sunday when over 150 delegates
and pastors are expected to be here.
Among the lay delegates Is Thora
Harris, famous hymn-writer of Eureka
Springs, Ark. Harris has written
over 300 religious compositions
and has published several volumes
of hymns popular in evangelistic
circles.
Convention sessions have been
held each day this week. Monday
and Tuesday, the sessions were confined
to worship and praise and on
Wednesday, the business meetings
commenced, continuing through
Thursday and Friday as affairs of
the Oneness churches were considered.
Rally to Be Held
Saturday is to see an all-day rally
of young people led by two young
evangelistic workers, Miss Vaughan
and Miss Tllbert, both from Tulsa,
Okla. A Sunday school convention,
to be led by Dan Hayes of Des
Molnes, national Sunday school organizer
of the church, is to close
the week's meetings followed by
evangelistic and worship services.
States represented at the convention
up to the present time are
Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Oklahoma,
Illinois, Arkansas, and Nebraska.
Elder D. D. Dainty of Knoxville,
la., is chairman of the convention
and Elder B. D. Urshan of St. Paul
is secretary. In general charge of
convention arrangements are Elder
C. E. Lundquist of Spencer and Elder
H. E. Doss of Marathon
