Thank you all for your wonderful support and efforts in this contest.

The really interesting twist is that Michael applied to work at 3 different Best Buy Stores this summer. None wanted to hire someone who was going to be leaving in the fall. Very fortunate for Michael or he couldn't have entered this contest!

A note from my son.... (perhaps and administrator could sticky it at the top for a couple of days)?
To the members of Apostolic Friends Forum;
It is with no small appreciation that I come before you today. The Apostolic community online and around the world was essential to our success in Best Buy's TECH U OUT VIDEO competition.
The video contest was by no means an individual effort- I teamed up with numerous talented people and enjoyed generous support from my family, friends, churches and this forum, which was vital in securing a top position in the ranking system.
I would rather not have this viewed as an individual winning a prize- but rather a community coming together to accomplish a common goal. My motivation in entering the Best Buy content was never to saturate myself with fancy gadgets for the sake of having the latest television or hottest new release gizmo- my goal was to better equip myself to make videos, believing that this interest is a gift from God, and that I have been placed in a position where I can make a difference. Furthermore, I understand and fully acknowledge that I must always surrender all credit where it is due- first and wholly to God, who is holy.
Many people have been very curious about how I plan to use this great prize. After taxes, expenses, and looking after those directly involved in the video (such as our entire 2005 Bible Quiz team) I would like to support the churches I am involved in, address some needs of missions overseas and purchase more equipment to produce better movies.
One of the verses that has been on my mind over the past few days has been
Acts 1:8, a verse I learned as a quizzer several years ago. Coincidentially, I found that it is THIS verse which my college, Wheaton College, has chosen to focus its 2007-2008 school year. "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
In light of this, and in response to the massive support so graciously given by this forum, we plan to purchase new camera equipment for Sister Alvear (along with basic training and tips) to further her ministry in South America, donated on behalf of Apostolic Friends Forum. By equipping those actively involved in the field, we are doing one small thing to further God's great harvest, unto the uttermost part of the earth.
If someone had suggested to me that Best Buy would be helping our churches and missionaries this fall, I might have laughed at the prospect- but God surely works in mysterious and masterful ways. I thank all of you again or your time and helpful feedback thoughout the intense contest period, which means more to me than can be simply stated with mere words.
