I love directors that really get into it. They're so much more fun to watch..AND to sing for.

Did you guys rehearse a lot for that....do you have rehearsal at church....
we were given 45 minutes a week(to learn a new song and sing it that night) , and we were constantly told, we don't want to get toooo good because we would want to go into the world, and loose our salvation.........I am not kidding you....the were so worried about anyone sounding good...

Sister are you kidding? we will not sing a new number until we have it down pat. if it takes a month so be it.
O PLEASE that mentality about " we don't want to get too good" ????
what kind of nonesense is that? Yes you can depend on talent so can preachers who preach.
we have churches out here that talk about us being TOO Professional???
AND! they wont let their choir sway or clap together- that is considered" choregraghing???
we have prayer for 1/2 hour and then practice for 1 hour. with trained voices and being very organized it can be done. you have to have seperate rehearsals for musicians and frontline singers though to make it work
