Thank God for a bright spot.

Besides our Church in Jackson, did any of our people get hurt?

There was a UPC pastor and his wife hurt in Arkansas but they were from Kentucky. I believe their names was Bro/Sis Akers.
It is so amazing that there were actually people in the Lighthouse UPC, including the Pastor and his family and none of them were hurt! Buildings can be replaced,but people cannot. Imagine if those poor people had to deal with losing their pastor as well as the church building! There is always good that can be found in any situation.

From what I understand they were in the gym side that wasn't destroyed - thank the Lord. The pastor had actually taken people there for safety.

Bro. and Sister Akers used to be our asst. pastor in AZ. also our friends, does anyone know how bad they were hurt and if their alright?

Special Announcement

The Lighthouse Church was severely damaged by
the Feb. 5, 2008 tornado that hit Jackson, TN.

God turned a tradegy into a testimony. Bro. and Sis. Lance and their children and 3 other families were inside the building when the tornado hit. Everyone survived without even a scratch! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! We can replace buildings but we cannot replace people!

The "CHURCH" has not been destroyed, just the building! We will be back bigger and better and taking it to another level!

Pray that God will bless us during this time or transition. We appreciate your prayers and concern.

This message is on the front page of their church website. They also have pictures there. Such destruction, yet such a comfort to know that God knows all about it and He knows just what to do

One of my favorite verses in the Bible at times like this is this--

John 6:6
And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.

Jesus said this after he asked Philip where they were gonna buy bread so the multitude could eat. He was asking Philip what they were gonna do but he wanted to know what Philip would say. He wanted to give Philip the opportunity to say Jesus, you are the Miracle Man, You are our Provider, You are the One we go to when we have needs. Yet, Jesus, himself already knew what He was gonna do to fix the problem. And look what a miracle He performed. Hallelujah! Get ready Lighthouse UPC Here comes Jesus!
