God can't give you what He doesn't have.

I was recently with someone who said that they'd had that spoken over them in a church service.

I was as bewildered as you probably are, and responded with, "God has everything! That doesn't make any sense."

He then elaborated and said, "No. We blame our suffering on God, but God can't give us suffering because God doesn't have suffering.
We blame our fear on God, but God can't give us fear because God doesn't have fear.
We blame our depression on God, but God can't give us depression because God doesn't have depression."

I found it profound and thought that someone on here might as well. Thought I'd share.

God created everything. He may not give us fear, suffering, or depression we acquire it for ourselves, but He created the capacity in us for it.He sets the laws of such in place. We break certain laws and there are consequences. Just like God created poisons, they won't effect us unless we decide to take them.

At the moment of the Big Bang (OK, about 10 to the minus 30 AFTER) He created the laws of physics, both Newtonian and quantum (very smart people are still trying to tie the two together). His laws allow us to live WITHIN the laws of physics with the least amount of pain.
