Gateway College Folding to UGST
I received a letter from Gateway stating that its Board of Directors has voted to become a part of UGST. Apparently, UGST's BOD has approved the transition as well.
Very interesting.
I'm assuming this move is a response to the inability of Gateway to become accredited. Perhaps UGST will now expand to undergraduate education. They are already an accredited graduate school, so this may actually lead to the UPC finally having an accredited Bible College.
Bout time.

I heard some things about this too...
Charn, would this be making Gateway the only undergrad Bible school owned and supported fully by the organization?
How will/would this be received by Gateway competitors?

I don't believe TBC, CLC or ABI have attempted accreditation so there is really no comparison. It's my understanding that Gateway wants to become more than a Bible College, they want to become a liberal arts institution.
I would think everyone in the org would jump up and down for joy if UGST could accomplish what Gateway has been trying to accomplish for the past 20 years.
It would be an enormous step forward for the org. Perhaps the most significant step forward of my lifetime. And, no, that is not hyperbole. I can think of nothing else that even touches it in comparison.

Not sure of ABI or TBC - however, I do know that CLC has attempted accreditation in the past. I don't ask about it any more. I know when they lost Dr. Segraves, it probably hampered their efforts in a huge way.

Re: Gateway College Folding to UGST
Oh yeah....... I meant to say - Glad to see that Gateway is taking this step.
In the past, it was the dream of Bishop Haney that CLC become a liberal arts college able to offer degrees in business, media communications, education, etc etc. Dr. Segraves (along with several others) supported Bishop Haney's dream and worked very hard to help it come to pass. Not sure where they stand now.

Re: Gateway College Folding to UGST
It would be great for the Apostolic Faith to have an equivalent to BYU.
