Romney FAKE food drive

Oct. 31, 2012 The funny thing about Mitt Romney’s newest trick or treat is that his Ohio Relief Fund drive is in fact a fake. Another photo-op engineered to make it look like Mitt Romney actually cares about other American families going through a disaster.

Not surprised, just like the President showing up in NJ is not about politics. Yeah, right!!

Re: Romney FAKE food drive

Funny. Washington Post reported on the same event--with no hint of controversy.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...5bc7_blog.html

ABCNews reveals that politicolnews is lying about the Red Cross not accepting the donations:

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics...o-canned-food/

Quote:
The American Red Cross appreciates the support from the Romney campaign and is working with the campaign to process this donation of supplies,” a spokesperson for the organization said. “We are grateful that both the Obama and Romney campaigns have also encouraged the public to send financial donations to the Red Cross. We encourage individuals who want to help to consider making a financial donation or making an appointment to give blood.”

The Red Cross and other aid organizations like FEMA have long said that donations of food, clothing and other small in-kind items force them to divert crucial resources away from relief efforts and toward sorting and cleaning donations.

Romney told supporters at the rally yesterday that the campaign would deliver the non-perishable food items to a Red Cross facility in New Jersey.
The campaign confirmed that their goods are on their way to a warehouse in New Jersey where they will be processed. And the campaign added that they have solicited financial donations from their supporters on Twitter and Facebook and at a rally in Florida today, Romney encouraged supporters to donate to the Red Cross."
IN ADDITION to the food donation, ABCNews reported:
Quote:
"Romney also made a personal financial donation to the Red Cross as well, the campaign said on Wednesday. They did not specify the amount."
TRUTH: The Red Cross PREFERS financial donations, but WILL ACCEPT other donations.

CBSNews latest headline for Romney says: "Romney Hits the High Road During Sandy's Aftermath." Hmmm...they didn't sniff out a controversy either. It's SO amazing that little old insignificant politicolnews.com got the scoop on this one.

Re: Romney FAKE food drive

I think it's hilarious that people are having to stoop to pick on CHARITABLE efforts to criticize Romney/Ryan. That's really reaching, guys.

If food, money and supplies are donated to a charity, it doesn't matter if Romney went out and purchased everything out of his own pocket--it's still an admirable effort. If people didn't bring enough and the campaign added $5,000 worth of food to the donation, HOW ON EARTH IS THAT A BAD THING???? On top of that, Romney made a monetary donation, AND there was a sign up at the food drive encouraging people to make monetary donations to the Red Cross via text.

So odd that politicolnews didn't report on THAT. I'm sure it's because they are unbiased and truthful.

Don't worry, crakjak. It's all lies anyway. MSM has been commenting on how both Romney and Ryan have classily set aside typical campaign snarking during the hurricane aftermath and have focused on the positives instead. So all the little snipers have to amuse themselves is picking on the charitable donations and efforts. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

I thought it was so funny, the media blessing and praising the president's trip to New Jersey. Especially, the fact that he was getting a "...bird's eye view of all the damage..." after all the demonizing of W flying over New Orleans!!! And now the sniping at Romney's actions....!!! They are so blinded by their biases that they don't see the foolishness of their words.

Re: Romney FAKE food drive

I would like to say.. I think it is great that Romneys Staff went to ChinaMart..and Bought $5000.00 worth of goods... for a food drive... even if it was a fake one.. as long as those in need get it... that is the important thing...

Here it says... that.. the Red Cross does not accept food and cleaners and such... with an exception to some BULK...
They say it is too expensive to sort... and it costs more than it would to just go buy the products themselves..more cost effective...
You would think .. someone running for President.. would at least have had their staff look into it.. and want to help the local economy where the devestation took place... who as the Red Cross points out.. need it more...
c/p from Red Cross

Donating Goods

Collections or Donations of Household Items
.
The American Red Cross does not accept or solicit small quantities of individual donations of items for emergency relief purposes. Items such as collections of food, used clothing, and shoes often must be cleaned, sorted, and repackaged which impedes the valuable resources of money, time, and personnel that are needed for other aspects of our relief operation.

The Red Cross, in partnership with other agencies, suggests that the best use for those types of donations is to support needy agencies within donors' local communities.

The best way to help a disaster victim is through a financial donation to the Red Cross. Financial contributions allow the Red Cross to purchase exactly what is needed for the disaster relief operation. Monetary donations also enable the Red Cross to purchase relief supplies close to the disaster site which avoids delays and transportation costs in getting basic necessities to disaster victims. Because the affected area has generally experienced significant economic loss, purchasing relief supplies in or close to the disaster site also helps to stimulate the weakened local economy.
end c/p

When did the Belief in God.. become.. Republican.. only... Does.. God have Michael the Arch Angel.. stand at the gates of heaven... and say.. show me your voter registration card with Photo ID Please...? Sorry.. you voted Democratic you can't enter... since They are the enforcer of God... They did cast Satan out of Heaven .. as God Ordered them to...did they not...

I must ask... do you really approve that Romney set up a photo op... to make it look like these people were actually donating.. to make it look good to those who saw him on tv doing it? In hopes it would cause people to vote for them...

Is that really the type of person you want to be the President of the United States... talk about no morals or values... No Integrity....Nada...

Forget .. Obama.. He is the President Of the United States.. he is supposed to Tour Ravaged areas.. Devestated by storms.. I can read the press had he not gone... Obama Put Election over 10s of millions of people Displaced by Sandy... and kept campaigning... Instead of doing his Duties and Obligations as President..I would never vote for someone who was out campaigning and not doing their duties as President under such circumstances....

I am asking about Do you really approve and think it is acceptable.. for what Romney Did... Is anything to win.is acceptable.. as long as you win?...

Does.. God say.. well.. he was trying to get elected..at any cost... so it was ok to lie and deceive people..... about what he was really doing.. and he did have the staff...buy the Goods and he did donate funds also... that wipes out his sins of lying and deception...Are you really saying.. it was ok.. to hand people or ask them to pick up items of food that your staff purchased...and act like you are donating it...even though you are not... really donating it... but it looks good on camera... and tv...

My God.. would never think that was acceptable... ever... and my God is a Loving and Caring God..My God says you can not buy your way into Heaven either...

If you have not figured out by now.. I am an Independent... and I voted for the Green Party.. neither.. Obama nor Romney...Remember you can always write-in someone else.... ... and my closest friend is a Republican.. and he says.... He only wishes.. he could be half as giving and caring as I am... that he strives to be more like me...... they also say....that if anyone is going to enter Heaven.. it will be me.....
No kinder words can be said from a close and dear friend...who I also respect.. because they really are.. a kind and caring and giving person themselves... but, if they want to think I help them.. want to be that way... great.. as long as they are...that is all that matters....
I believe in God.. but I will never ever.. living here in the United States.. whom I served Proudly.. when I enlisted back when we still had a Draft...and I was married and had a great job with ComEd too... I did not wait to be forced to serve my country.. . I served. because I feel it is everyones duty to serve their country.. not avoid serving it.. or cross your fingers and hope you were not drafted.. Male and Female alike..... should all give 2 years or more... of their life to their country... jmo.. jmv..
My Faith... and your choice of Faith.. Is our right... we do not have the right to try and impose our faith or views upon anyone else...
That is why our Constitution says... in the First Amendment.. Freedom to choose your Religion.. that does not mean.. we all must choose the same faith.. nor we must all believe the same. to think we must.. is called Oppression ... and that is why many came to this country.. to get away from oppression of faith.. being forced to believe one certain way... and not freely of their own choice....
We have many faiths in this country.. and each and everyone of them are equal... to each other.. Whether they have.. . 100 million members.. or they only have 1 member.... they are all equal... in the eyes of the United States...What I am trying to say is...
If you want to worship a cow.. or a statue... or a crucifix.. or call your god.. .. God.. or Allah.. or Budha.. that is your right... no one faith has the right to impose their... faith and views upon anyone else... The moment you think you have the right to force someone to think and believe as you do ... you have become the oppressor... no longer allowing people in this country to have freedom of choice...
Ok.. I have vented and ranted and said my piece... lol.. If I offended anyone or stepped on anyones toes.. it was not my intention.and I will apologize..for doing so....and it was jmv.... that I was expressing.. I do not think.. want... or expect anyone to embrace my views..
May you all be blessed.... in whatever faith.. your choice might be..
