Do "other people" worship with your church?
I was just wondering if people from other cultural backgrounds worship with your church congregation. If so, how do you accomplish this? If not, why?

Re: Do "other people" worship with your church?
well if your talking about cultural like black white, hispanic yes, but if your talking about outside the denomination. I.E. baptist fellowshipping with the upci, then that would be a No, as the upci believes all outside the apostolic realm who has not followed acts 2:38 with the edition of speaking in tounges to be carnal minded sinners.
so thier not even acknowledged as brothers and sisters in christ. (sorta sad really)

We have had services with PAW, AA as well as we've had a youth group from a Episcopal church (I think) visit us as well as visitors from other kinds of churches
Your assessment of UPCI is faulty. I don't believe anyone that did not follow Acts 2:38 is a carnal minded sinner. Im sure David Bernard would not make such a generalizing assessment either.
I've been in services where it was a multi-denominational meeting with a UPCI and a black baptist and some non-denom spanish congregation. Recently many of us went to a concert featuring Tramain Hawkins at a black baptist church and we worshiped with them

- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

When Tramaine sang, did you experience the power of the Holy Ghost through her music, or was she just a "gifted" person that was without truth?

The Holy Ghost was there because people were worshipping and had faith. She was gifted though
I would not call her someone "without truth". Everyone has truth, they may be in error on certain issues but most Christians have truth

its not my assesment that is what is comming out of the pullpit. My wife who has never spoken in tounges yet is active in church is still viewed as being carnal minded. Im just speaking of my own experiences.
also if you listen to david bernard verses Dr white. Dr bernard doesnt come out and say he is a carnal minded person in the debate but he tells him basically that he isnt saved and that God is leading him on a path atm.
that was a nice way of calling him a sinner.
I grew up in a trinitarian pentacostal church, Ive seen the Holy Spirit fall, Ive seen tounges prophesies miracles, and all this before i even knew oneness pentacostals exsisted.
When i came over to the upci and i started persuing a ministers liscense. I was told at a convention that when you realize all these people are with out truth you could move on. I even had one mentor tell me that the spirit in those other churches are not from God.
I however could not accept the fact these people were with out truth. The evidence of the gifts of the Spirit was more than enough.
so its not my assesment its my experience.

That's coming out of YOUR pulpit maybe, Please don't apply that to everyone that is UPC though. That is a sweeping Generalization
That is your assessment based on your experience.
I heard DB on that debate. He did not say basically JW was not saved. What he said was that he believes that a saved person like JW will at some point in their lives experience the baptism and tongues. Maybe he was being a politician but essentially he was arguing salvation can occur before tongues is exhibited.
BTW did you read my experience and do you understand how I came to my conclusion that not ALL the UPC is that way?

No i havent, toss me in a testimony as well. just wondering about your roots.
believe me i would love to see some denominational mix of worship i truely would. The only time i saw the upci and other churches come together was to picket abortions. I was so shocked and amazed. For one day everyone put away there doctrines and denomination and came together as a true body of believers for Pro -Life.
