Life Restored
I thought I'd share a testimony about my little boy, Riley, when he was four years old. . . He had just learned to ride a horse, both stopping and starting her all by himself. He was showing off his new found talent, when the horse began to run out of control with my four year old on her back! She ran down the driveway, Riley (my son) still hanging on for dear life, and turned out into the road. Riley's grandfather tried his best to stop the horse, but to no avail. I jumped into my car to try to catch up to Riley and slow the horse. When I turned onto the road, I could see Riley's little feet sticking out of the ditch onto the road. I can't begin to tell you the horror I felt at that moment. I got to Riley, and by what I could tell, there was no sign of life on him. He wasn't breathing, his eyes were rolled back into his head. I had 911 on the line when I exited my car. They were sending an ambulance, but it would take about 1/2 hour to get to where we were. So, we began to pray - might I add that the prayer I prayed didn't consist of much more than "in JESUS name" over and over. I just couldn't find any more words. It was at that moment a van pulled up to us. A man got out of the car and walked over to my lifeless little boy and begin to curse death in JESUS name! He didn't ask what had happened. He didn't even ask if he could pray. He just scooped Riley's head into his hands and begin to pray words that I couldn't find in my panic. Within seconds, Riley began to cough, jerk, sputter. . . all of the time 911 was yelling for me to keep him still, which of course at that moment, I had no control over. We lifted him into the car to bring him to the hospital and the man prayed one more time before we left. As we were leaving, he told me "M'am your son will be fine, I have my release!" As we headed to the hospital, we tried to decide if the man was really an angel or not. .. ...... There was a team of doctors and nurses waiting for us at the hospital to care for what they thought were going to be terrible injuries. Riley left the hospital that very day with a severe concussion and a broken arm! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!! The next day, Riley was in the bathtub and I was holding up his casted arm when he said "Mom, I was in Mr. Bob's yard and y'all were praying for me." I assumed someone had told him about our prayers. He said "No, Mom, I saw y'all praying for me!" (Remember he was only four!) He told me how he looked down and watched us pray for him. His spirit was leaving his body when our angel arrived. I did find out later that it was not in fact an angel as I suspected, but a man passing by for a Saturday service at church! He was sent by God in our hour of need just the same! Riley will be 10 this month. He is vibrant and has a beautiful walk with God! He has no difficulties from his injuries on that day. God used what seemed a terror to my human eye to prove Himself to my four year old little boy!
