you might want to know who you are talking to, and what the subject actually is before you get uppity.
Well I have worshipped at different oneness churches, and one thing I noticed is that if the church was UPC affiliated, they usually had very few minority members.
I have visited other oneness churches sometimes in the same area and I noticed that the congregation was more mixed.
There is a knee jerk reaction in some UPC pastors to deny any racism for it is not politically correct to be racist, but their outreach efforts show where they really want members from.
Some pastors were brought up in a culture that would not allow mixed marriages, so although it is not longer acceptable to hold such views openly, some pastors still hold such views in private.

I don't want to reveal anything nor embarrass anyone. But he knows this is not the 'normal' comgregation in any stretch of the word. When folks relocate even to another country there has to be a bonding that takes place that is beyond the normal bonding of a normal congregation. All the difficulties that were involved in that move in every way had to change the complexion of it. Thus to lose one would be like losing a family member. I am not excusing anything only trying to bring a little more understanding to the situation. This is not your average congregation. I am sure my friend would agree.

Well I do not believe that I ever said that you personally were a UPCI closet racist, maybe you misunderstood what I wrote.
What I believe is that perhaps there is a tinge of racism in a pastor not allowing a young woman in the congregation to marry a black man, of course there might be other reasons involved.
When I was a young man, I had black girlfriends, white girlfriends and Hispanic girlfriends nothing serious just playing the field. After many years I finally married.

Was you raised on the West Coast that is a different world from the one I was raised in. Before I get gutted for being a racist my grandfather disowned me and didn't speak to me for years because I would visit a PAW church. However interracial marriage was beyond my wildest imagination growing up. Truthfully it has taken years for me to come to grips by my culture has changed and for the better I think. I loved visiting the West Coast and seeing those multicultural churches it was so refreshing.

Yep, growing up in the south, your post is very easy for me to understand. Fortunately, my father and mother, never allowed racism in our home, and they practiced what they preached.
Still, the culture around us was pervasively racists, and hard to avoid as I grew up.

i got what you said to me. it was pretty clear.
However, go back. I said that if you are a racist you are lost. (by "you", I meant the preacher in question who is refusing to be party to a bi-racial marriage)
Let me answer the question you asked me about my church. There are more black people than white people.

Racism is definitely part of this issue, but let me put it this way.
IF this black boy were to decide to move to SA and marry the girl, and live there, I wonder if he would approve of the marriage then. I do think, as Steve Epley has stated, that the real issue is in control and keeping people in his church.
The Hispanic man his daughter married lives in SA, and they were able to stay there and be part of the church. I think that's partly why it was acceptable.

I am not there so I cannot say but could it be what is seen as control in your eyes could actually be the guy really loves these folks particularly those who moved with him and really hates to lose them. I spoke to him about that during those times. That is the way it works in marriage you lose and gain. I gave him the examples of his dils.

Oh I'm sure he loves them, but that is part of the problem. It is control. He loves them, and controls them, and he enjoys that. It is not healthy, and you've admitted that. It is definitely not your average congregation.
You have to admit there are similarities about the control he has over these people being similar to the stunt Jim Jones pulled, in that he moved an entire congregation from one country to another. He needs help, but I don't know who could offer it to him.
