The Cup of Blessing! New Testament In His Blood!

The Cup of Blessing - A Sharing in the blood of Christ!

Palsms 116:13
I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

Matt.26:27,28
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28 For this is my
blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

I Cor.10:16
Is not the cup of blessing which we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ?

I Cor:11:25
After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament
in my blood:

In the year of 1928, my paternal grandmother was dying of typhoid fever. The doctor told her husband,
"Tom, Lizzie's dying! See the blue on her feet and legs. I heard my grandmother say many times, "I could
feel the cold hand of death creeping up my legs". She breathed a sincere prayer, "Lord, if you would see fit,
let me live to raise my three children. My dad, who heard the doctor say his mother was dying, was 8 yrs.
old, his little brother, 5 and baby sister, 2 1/2 yrs.

Lizzie lasped into a coma, only to awake the next evening, her fever had broke and she was hungry and
thirsty. My Dad said in his memoirs, "God had answered a young 28 yr. old Methodist mother and her 8 yr.
old son's prayer".

My grandmother, of whom I am named after, had been a devout church member for 21 yrs, her mother,
a charter member for 48 yrs of the church they attended. Walking in all the light they knew. But God wanted
them to see more light. Seven years after God healed her of typhoid fever, the message of Pentecost came
their way. Grandmother listened, then searched the scriptures to see if they be true. She found that what
was preached was most certainly in the Bible. She prayed, She obeyed. She repented, and along with my
father, who was by now 14 yrs old, was baptized in Jesus Name and both received the Holy Ghost, speaking
with tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance.

Yes, Grandmother was offered a cup, a cup of blessing. It was found in the message of New Testament,
Yes, a New Covenant salvation, a new and living way. A better way.

When Grandmother received this cup of blessing, this New and Living Way, plan of salvation, she really
was choosing, not only for herself, but it has resulted in every generation, passing this wonderful blessing
on to the next. This young mother that was dying in 1928, outlived the doctor who attended her, by over
50 yrs. She lived to see our firstborn grandson, who is now 24 yrs. old and a minister of the gospel. He
was the beginning of the fifth generation of her family. Every generation has produced ministers.

The cup of blessing lives on. It was passed to me, My husband and I both accepted this cup of blessings
50 yrs. ago this summer, and we have passed it on to our six children. They are passing it on to their
children. We have 15 grandsons and 5 granddaughters who will have their chance at this cup of blessing,
The New Testament plan of salvation, in HIS BLOOD!!!

There is one cup, but there are two choices! Either to accept this cup of blessing or to not accept it.

I am SO thankful my dear Grandmother made her choice to accept this cup. Her young son, followed
her in partaking of this cup. As a result, I accepted it, our children accepted it and my grandchildren
who are old enough to make the choice have all accepted it.

Again, this cup of blessing, is the New Covenant or Testament Plan of salvation, in HIS BLOOD!
Thank You, Lord Jesus for You partook of a bitter cup that we could partake of a cup of blessing!

I Cor.10:16
Is not the cup of blessing which we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ?

Blessings,

Falla39

What a rich and godly heritage. No wonder David wrote "...my cup runneth over". You are a blessed sister, and a blessing to many! May your cup continually run over and spill upon many generations to come.

A beautiful post! Thank you so much for sharing it!

Oh how I wish I had the stories of my grandparents' conversions and testimonies of how the cup of blessing came down to my generation.

Re: The Cup of Blessing! New Testament In His Bloo

Thank you all for your kind words and comments!

We are SO blessed!!! But God is no respector of persons! There is
available ONE CUP, but the contents consists of TWO CHOICES! We
choose blessings or otherwise! I saw the blessings in Grandma's choice
and in Daddy's choice. I wanted to choose it for my children and grand-
children too. I can show them the blessedness of the right choice, but
they have to partake of it for themselves.

Blessings,

Beautiful thread...

At a time when there have been so many divisive thread topics, this was just what I needed to read.

Thank you
