Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
Sight, riches, healing of the mind,
Yea, all I need in Thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thy love unknown
Hath broken every barrier down;
Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, of that free love
The breadth, length, depth, and height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

God's Wonderful People, by Lanny Wolfe. He had some good ones, but that song makes me cringe!

What?? I'll tell you, your dislike for the song digs pretty deeply.

Years ago, my grandmother decided that when she turned 70, she was going to fulfill a lifetime dream of taking the gospel to a remote place that would never have it unless she went. She saved up her money and went through all the preparation required and on her 70th birthday we sang Happy Birthday to her, she blew out the candles on the cake and by that evening, she was heading for Sierra Leone, fulfilling a lifetime dream. It was a horribly impoverished country despite the diamond trade that ran through the country.

She stayed for a month and during that time incredible things happened. She brought many to salvation and made dozens of friends among the natives. She told us in a phone call home to the family, the thing that amazed her the most was that these people were just like her old friends and she taught them the song, "God's Wonderful People", because through the power of the Gospel of Christ, they were, to her, God's Wonderful People.

Her time was finished after 3 months and it was time for her to return came and instead of getting on the plane, she went back to the village determined to reach more people. She just couldn't come home.

But 3 weeks later and contacted malaria and within days she passed on to the other side. We were devastated. Rather than get back on that plane, she had such a heart for the lost of Sierra Leone, that she gave her life for them.

When her body was shipped back to the States, inside the casket was found a video tape. It had been been filmed just an hour before her death. About 20 natives had gathered around her bed and sang, in broken English, "I Love the thrill that I feel when I get together with, God's wonderful people."

We wept at the funeral home as we watched. One by one on the video tape, they gave their story of how she had made them one of God's wonderful people.

My grandmother gave her life to go on a lifetime dream trip to give the gospel to God's Wonderful People.

And then I see you making fun of the song. It's hard to read.

Re: Worst Song In the History of Christianity

There's a song recorded by the Florida Mass Choir either in 1979 or 1981-- I don't remember exactly.

Anyway, the 2nd song on that cd was titled, "Jesus Will Never Say No".

Not only was it false, but one of my brothers and I found the song just plain stupid.

The song is a lie dressed in the garb of gospel music at a time where stupid songs were put on albums to fill the extra space that the one good song did not take up.

No, I don't hate you.
I even showed that to my wife.
I thought it was great that someone 70 years old got to fulfill a lifelong dream like that. Maybe because I'll be 73 in a couple of months it was more appealing to me than to some of the others here.
I bit and you reeled me in good with that one.

I could even see me posting something like that.
My wife feels differently.
She was raised in Apostolic/Pentecost so she was raised in guilt and condemnation and would be afraid to ever post something fabricated like that for fear that God would "get" her.
