NCO is pretty much brand new. Like in the last few months I guess. It was introduced here on AFF by our super poster Daniel
DM surely you are jesting? The Infernal Document (AKA AF) has been discussed repeatedly.
But just for the new lurker out there and you if you are serious....
In 1992 a resolution was passed at UPCI General Conference that required all licensed ministers to sign a statement on a regular basis (every year or couple of years) that affirms they believe and teach the stuff in the Manual. The real goal of the AF (Infernal Document) is to insure that everyone in the UPCI holds to the Water Spirit Doctrine and doesn’t have a TV and will not advertise on TV. Really that is the heart of the Infernal Document. There are some other minor points but these 2 issues were what the folk behind the resolution were gunning for.
At the end of the day, the particular item dealing with the Water Spirit doctrine was in the opinion of many, a violation of the spirit of the 1948 Merger. The goal then was unity of the brethren until ‘unity of the faith’ was achieved. This lead to an exodus of many men who had long been members of the UPCI and in good standing but whose doctrine was somewhat different than that of the majority Water Spirit position.
