14: But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
15: So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
16: Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. Rev. 2: 14-16
Yeshua threatens these false teachers with the sword of his mouth.
20: Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
21: And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
22: Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
23: And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. Rev. 2:20-23
If these did not repent he would cast them into tribulation. He will kill their children.
5: But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6: Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7: Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
8: Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 1 Cor. 10:5-8
These are said to be examples to the New Testament Church. Lusting after evil things 23000 fell in one day.
9: Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
10: Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11: Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
1 Cor. 10:9-11
Paul says plainly these judgments are written for US to take heed who live at the end of the world.
Yeshua again warning his people.
19: As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Rev. 3:19
The conclusion?
Yeshua leaves himself the right to chasten his people according to his will. It could be mild or it could be severe.
The teaching of today has banned the Lord from judging his people. They say he would not do so but would wait till he comes to settle sins commited. Some assume he automatically forgives sin and go on their merry way.
Oh friends its time to start believing (having faith in) the words of the Lord. Its time we took Yeshua Messiah seriously.
With the restored message of the fear of God will return the message of ceasing from and overcoming sin on a consistent basis. Saints will yearn for the perfection and holiness of Yeshua.
Many of the light messages now being preached will be discarded and Ministry will begin to fulfill its purpose to present every man perfect in Christ.
Miracles of judgment are still real today. They punish men and point them to repentance. They bring the good and healthy fear of the Lord back to the lives of those who take sin lightly. They glorify the God of Heaven when he becomes small in the eyes of men.
Love God. Fear God. You will have his favor.

Interesting. You avoided Hell in this post; the Theological nightmare of Fear. A place where lost souls will burn in unending flames of torment, all because they didn't understand, didn't know, or didn't follow a certain Religion. Screaming for eternity, begging for relief every second into the eons of nothingness, all because of the blown effort of being born into a Home, Country, or Culture that didn't interpret the Bible correctly.
According to what you teach Michael, over 90% of humanity will wind up in Hell. This place more dark, more evil, so full of suffering our minds would explode if we truly saw this hole of terror. Families, children, peoples from every land will plummet into this undying pit for making mistakes or failing in this life.
Do you really believe this?
As I mentioned before, the Jews never taught of such a place and there is no mention of Eternal Damnation in the Old Testament. We have to wonder why?
If God made us in His image, and we are likened after Him, we would all admit that we would never send our Children into such a place, no matter what they did. Being human and created by God, we understand that failure and fault come to all of us and that mercy and His perfect love is our only hope.

Re: The Fear Of God: The Key To End Time Revival
To dismiss hell is to dismiss a concept clearly explained in the NT, even if not mentioned in the OT.
To question hell is to question the inerrancy of the Bible.

I dont avoid teaching on Hell. My teaching on it is in several threads on this forum. Your problem is simple unbelief in Gods word. You refuse to accept the God of the Bible. Therefore you assure yourself he is a mere invention of men.
You say it was only put to record 100 years after Christ. That it was corrupted by the Catholics and the Anglicans. It is in effect nothing therefore people have nothing to fear.
I do believe the great majority of humanity will go to the place Yeshua called "Gehenna". Do I believe this because I am some mean person who is really wanting that to be true? No. I believe it because it is written and preserved for us as being the TEACHING OF YESHUA MESSIAH.....JESUS CHRIST.
It was HE that is Jesus himself who said that FEW would be saved. Was he a liar? Was he without knowledge?
I am just a disciple of his. I never inspired his words. They were given to him through the Eternal Spirit. I would be a fool to reject them.
If scripture is true the doctrine of Gehenna would be true whether you and I accept it or not. The Bible says all men are lost without Christ. Yeshua said to have our sins removed we must believe he is I AM.
He is the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except by him.
HE SAID THAT. Not some fear loving, crazy fanatic. Unless one would say the things about him they say about me.
However just for the record I do NOT believe men will burn for billions upon billions of years in the Lake Of Fire. Rather I believe the Lake of Fire is the place where the souls of the wicked are destroyed.
Just like Yeshua said.
28: And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matt. 10:28
Paul taught the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23. He did so because of what Yeshua taught. Not just the body but the SOUL of the wicked will be destroyed in Gehenna.
Now I hope this will not turn into a debate on Hell. I believe the lost go there. They suffer. Then in time they die. They pass into what Yeshua, Peter and Jude called "outer darkness" or the "mist of darkness".
In other words, nothingness. The soul that sinneth it shall die. Ezekiel 18:4
But if anyone wants to debate this let them start another thread or bring up one of the former threads where I taught on it.

Do you believe those of the Old Testament (First 5000 years of mankind) who were considered "Lost" are in Hell today, or will go there at some point?
Do you believe Native Americans who knew nothing of the Bible until the White Man came, will go to Hell?
Are you sure you won't go to Hell, and if you are, why?
Do you believe a child who is sold into sex slavery, grows into an adult, living the life of a prostitute, will burn forever in flames of unending torment?

Wow. God doesn't need you to get nasty to defend him or his word. That's my point Michael.

No I mean his doctrine destroys faith in the Bible.

How specifically does his doctrine destroy faith in the Bible?

If you cant see that nothing I can say will help.

Michael, factually he's right. All of our Gospels are copies of copies, and we don't have the originals. And yes the Catholic church has tampered with the texts. There are several verses in the King James that are additions and scribal notations. Anyone with a depth of biblical study knows this. There comes a point however at which a person chooses to BELIEVE the Scriptures through FAITH in spite of all of these factual points.

Oh no your not rebuking me. Certainly not. Did you first send ME a private message? Did you have another brother speak to me?

Michael, I'm just chiming in here. I've not REBUKED you. Relax kiddo.
Quote:
BUT NOT ME. Instead bring ME the rebuke. Go for it. I can take it.

Michael, Michael, Michael. You haven't done something I'd say was worthy of a rebuke yet. Maybe your definition of rebuke is different than mine. Besides, I've not felt the Spirit of the Lord issue a rebuke. So, I'm not going to rebuke you. I'm just sharing my thoughts about how you're coming off bro.
Quote:
How can you say someone could believe whats written in scripture when they apparently do not believe in inspired scripture or at least the preservation of it. Go back and read the quote.
|
I think you're not getting it Michael. The original manuscripts were inspired. And yes, our copies have been painstakingly preserved and are very accurate. But there are issues with them. Any serious and honest scholar will tell you that. Matthew 28:19 wasn't originally worded as found in the KJV. The entire story of an angel falling into the Pool of Bethesda wasn't in the original manuscripts, it's just a notation that was added later. I John 5:7 wasn't in the original texts either. Not to mention the English of the KJV often mistranslates in some places. It's just scholastic honesty.

Be patient and longsuffering? What makes you think I am not? I am simply commenting on what people THEMSELVES are saying as it relates to the topic I was wanting discussed.

The thread you started, the topic you want discussed. Just let others share and partake in this. They will have different opinions and yes many of those opinions will not agree with you in varying degrees. Your grace will determine how you deal with them. Take into humble consideration, they MIGHT be right. Really think about what they are saying, I mean REALLY saying, and seek to find why they are saying it. Reflect and meet it with what you think.
Quote:
And where is the patience and longsuffering toward me? HMMMM?
|
Trust me, I'm having a lot of patience with you Michael.
No seriously.... relax kiddo and share your thoughts and just talk to others. Frankly, when it comes to REVIVAL and the fear of the Lord... I believe the problem is the institutional church. I believe that it will be the religious stiffs in all the institutional churches that will be facing the most fearsome judgment when Christ returns.

Do they love him? Jesus said,
John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
If one says that they love Jesus but aren't keeping his commandments... there is reason to question that love.

The only logical conclusion from you preaching the fear of God like you are is that you believe alot of people aren't doing as they should. So you should tell us plainly what we ought to be doing if this is really the case.
