Proverbs 22:14 (NIV)

This scripture would indicate that it is not the moral failure of a man/woman that God hates, (I am not excusing sin here) but rather it is the result of him/her being hated by God. Reading and studying this scripture has made me examine myself and ask the Lord to reveal any wicked thing in me. I do not want to do, nor neglect to do, anything that would cause the Lord to hate me.

Many men in the OT had a serious dysfunctional view of women. Some still do today, instead of dealing with their own immorality. Similar to the obsessive focus on the outward appearance of the ladies .....

Amen, the price is paid, all have been reconciled to God, the "ministry of reconciliation" is the gospel for today. "Whosoever will LET him come..." and enter into life.

Re: When God Hates a Man
Sorry, I can't buy the God HATED/HATES men. I can't buy the idea that God was mad at men in OT ALL the time either.

I'm sure that the fact this scripture is in Proverbs, not a narrative genre, should be considered when exegeting the authorial intent here. I'm just sayin....
Dan, what would lead a person to believe that God would hate them?

Apparently not the immoral women, you know the adulteress's. But I guess the rest are okay.

Re: When God Hates a Man
We must remember that Proverbs is poetry. It could mean that God abhorred those who fall into adultry, but said in a poetic way. Just saying.
