I find it interesting that the imputation or the cross is not limited to our acceptance of the cross, much like the imputation of sin was not just by our commission.
For example; though a baby has imputed sin, he through his innocence also receives imputed justification.

Why just infants? No where does scripture teach that anyone is justified by their own innocence.

Re: Original Sin/Ancestral Sin
David said he was born in sin and shapen in inquity. The Bible says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God or have missed the mark that intended for humanity.
Mankind is born with the plight of the fall in the garden.
We bare the stamp of original sin we are born with a fallen adamic nature.
However through rebirth and regeneration we bare the image of the second Adam Jesus Christ.
Through grace We can receive an imputation of rightheousness.
I do believe all humanity is born with a fallen adamic nature.
However due to the vicarious atonement, the curse of original sin can be reversed.

I did not mean "BY" their innocence per se, but because they have not the comprehension of their sinfulness, Christ, through the cross, makes the difference in spite of their lack of willful acceptance of Him.

I believe sinless perfection is to be strived for maybe someone has but I sure have not reached it.
Of course I believe in remission of sins (original and other wise)by the blood that occurs when the penitent is baptized in Jesus Name.

Re: Original Sin/Ancestral Sin
Steve, I think we agree that Christ alone was sinlessly perfect.
The point I made earlier was that man is not only in need of being justified of all the sins he has ever committed and/or ever will commit, but that he is in need of being justified of the very nature of sin which engenders his sinful deeds. He is in need of being justified of something he had at birth.
Do you agree?
