Well lol, teens will be teens and I take it those goths you've seen are "mall goths" (mall goths are the goths you see at malls who look the most silliest and outlandish with their big baggy cargo pants and large ear plugs, they are what the goth scene as a whole "lovingly" dub posuers.
Why are they posuers because they do not grasp or even acknowledge goth or goth's music (ie The Cure, Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, for old-school goth and foundational goth sound etc) and go around thinking Marylin Manson is a goth singer......he isn't, far from it.
Your next question, what should the look "represent" It should represent: "I'm a little devil worshipper and I hate God!" No not really lol, sorry I just thought that was funny lol, Well originally back in the late 70's black was worn by goths to be dramatic (it still is used that way) and to be the anti-color the colorful 70's and disco etc. and it was also inspired by the theatrical, and black and white old horror movies (due note, goths like gothic horror (novels) and old horror moves, but not today's slasher flicks and "torture porn" movies. They're just sick and wrong, the whole goth subculture gets is namesake from the gothic romance and horror novels of the 1900's. (Poe, Shelly, Stoker etc).
One more thing of note is that goths dress in black to mourn for society's ills, ways, and wickedness, they recognize (myself included) that our world is not a nice place and its a very wicked and depraved place. They're naturally introspective and ponder the human condition etc. Goths do not obsess or glorify evil, and we do not obsess over death. We recognize that all life and things die, the only question is when? What we do is we realize death is apart of life and we then move on from that, but in noway are goths obsessed over it. (We even self-parody the goth subculture in being sometimes purposely overly dramatic and woeful, all in jest and fun though). Goth humor itself is a mix of irony, satire, dark humor and self-parody and deadpan humor, we like to laugh at ourselves (sometimes for being overly serious at times lol).
Thanks for this information. Since I'm tired, I'll read it again tomorrow.
Seriously though, thanks.

Actually, the only "goth" I can think of is "Abbey" from the show NCIS.
It's spelled "Abby" and you watch way too much Hellivision.

My next question is how does this benefit us, who are Apostolic Pentecostal?
Why I am asking this question? Because it seems like you are letting us know your beliefs to either make us aware of them, or making an attempt to win converts? I'm not saying the latter is what you are attempting here, but my question is why the thread?
Are you saying that Goth is a religion? A religion that believes in mourning for society's ills, ways, and wickedness? Since you recognize that all life and things die, and realize death is apart of life, what is your view of an after life?
The Rastafarians consider themselves a religion, they as Goths have a look, style, language, and music. Many people copy the look of the Rasta, with the wearing of the dreads, and the colors of the Ethiopian flag, but they do not adhere to the ways of the Rastafari

There they can find plenty of fault.
Goths seem to portray mourning and gloom and things of the "dark" -- the negative. I think we ought to be concerned to portray the love and joy of God as Christians, and not these things. Rather than mourn the state of things, we need to change it.
