All my life my Dad used to tell us that we were part Indian (as it was called back then). I think it was 1/16 or 1/32.

In later years when I asked him more about it, he said it might not really be true.

Still later when I was looking at a picture of his grandparents with a lot of the family members I asked, "Now which of your grandparents were Indian?" He replied, "I think they were both part Indian." So, now he's dead and so is just about every one else in the family so I don't know if I'm Native American or not.

I do remember that as a kid when the bugle sounded and the cavalry came over the hill at the end of the movie to save the people from the Indians, I booed when every one else was cheering.
