Rather Martin was a gang-banger or not he was just walking and committing no crime at the time. There was no reason for him to comfront Martin.
Martin may have a checkered past, but churches do have ex gang members. Now one is in his grave without a chance to repent.

How do you know he started the fight?

You don't really know that. Zimmerman could have been watching to see where he went with no intention of confrontation. Watching to see where he went is not approaching nor confrontation. From what I understand, he was just keeping tabs on him for the police who were on the way.

Re: George Zimmerman Case
The fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman took place on the night of February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida, United States. Martin was an unarmed 17-year-old African American. George Zimmerman, a 28-year-old multi-racial Hispanic American,[Note 1] was the appointed neighborhood watch coordinator for the gated community where Martin was temporarily staying and where the shooting took place.[3][4][5]
While in his vehicle on a personal errand, Zimmerman noticed Martin walking inside the community. Zimmerman called the Sanford Police Department to report Martin's behavior as suspicious, stating "This guy looks like he's up to no good, or he's on drugs or something. It's raining and he's just walking around, looking about" and "looking at all the houses".[6][7] According to a police report, "there is no indication that Trayvon Martin was involved in any criminal activity at the time of the encounter".[8][9][10] While still on the phone with the police dispatcher, Zimmerman left his vehicle. After the phone call concluded, there was a violent encounter between Martin and Zimmerman. The encounter ended with Zimmerman fatally shooting Martin once in the chest at close range

Re: George Zimmerman Case

Seems to be missing quite a bit of "evidence" but thanks for posting.

I said instigated. If he would have stayed in his car none of it would have happened.

We also have the Prosecutors admitting that Trayvon's girlfriend lied under oath. That star witness now has a tainted testimony. They should drop the charges, but they haven't decided if they will get her on perjury.
Looks like to me they are trying to avoid another Rodney King incident.

OK. Thank you. BUT that still does not mean he instigated anything. There is a lot of "evidence" missing from what you posted.

Re: George Zimmerman Case
She wasn't there as an eyewitness so I hardly see how she could be a "star witness".
