I have seen this a number of times. The speaker comes in late, is ushered in by body guards and is escorted out so that no one gets a chance to interact with him/her.
I really detest this. I think it smacks of pride and arrogance.
Is this really necessary?
What could possibly happen to a minister that they need THAT kind of protection?
So do they just come in, minister, get their offering and then split?
This really HONKS me off!!!! (could you tell?)
Seeing what I have seen especially in regard to a particular evangelist, it's necessary or they would never get to the pulpit. I've witnessed the crowds for myself.

There are ministers who are idolized by so many, they are equal with God, and people who are seen in that kind of light by so many people cannot possibly minister to those who really need ministering to in particular settings in a personal way.
I have seen altar calls that have been nothing more than a mobbing. It's pathetic.

So they can't just walk up on the platform?
They can't just walk through the church and sit down?
They can't be with the people after church? (a reasonable length of time)

Like I said, I have witnessed it for myself. I have seen people waiting at the door for them to arrive and ushers having to seat them so others can come in the door. It's pathetic that ministers can't do what they want to do because there are so many who follow them from place to place as if they are God himself.
