It makes sense to me. There were at least 2 original supporters of the child, the lesbian and her partner. It's likely the lesbians partner was supporting the child. The state realized this but couldn't legally go after her for the child support. Instead they forced the issue by getting the sperm donor for the child support. And the lesbian couple will likely help pay him back. Or if not the state may realize that he may even have strong civil case against them to get his money back.

How would he be able to do that? I doubt they'll help pay him back...they need money/assistance.

I'm torn on this one, believe it or not. If the guy knowingly created a child with this woman (no matter how it was achieved), and didn't have any legalese in place to protect himself later, then he is being justly rewarded for his naiveté, at the very least. That said, with a good lawyer, I think this could be reversed.

Y'all are under the impression that both lesbians are in need of assistance. I bet that one lesbian works and makes fine money and the other stays at home and takes care of the child and makes no money. The working lesbian probably can provide for them all just fine and tey are probably just abusing the state assistance program. Legally the working lesbian has no obligation to take care of the child since she likely has no legal right to the child. In a perfect world they would have went after the working lesbian partner for the child support. That's not what the law allows though. The law allows them to go after the biological father. However the father might have a good lawsuit against the working lesbian if she was part of the contracts and such that were signed.

They do? Or is one working at a good job and the other stays at home and takes care of the child. So maybe they are just abusing the program and the state can't touch them on that so they go after the only person they can?

I think selling/donating your sperm/eggs is a perversion of God's natural order.

In God's eyes the child is the flesh and blood of the biological parents and they are responsible to provide.

I think it should only be done among families. For instance, if my son was unable to conceive a child on his own and wanted his brother to donate, I'd be fine with that. Yes, biologically the child would be his brothers, but it would always be my other son's child.
