I find it disturbing that this was the only thing you can come up. Who in this thread was worrying? Who suggested we need to run out and find something new to distinguish us from the crowd?

  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.

Just watch them 95 % emotionalism

You wanna see some paganism on youtube type in "magic holy hair"

and listen to paganism preached and endorsed in upc churches.

If you follow LS instructions to take your hair down and wave it around and around to summon the power as do the witches.

Well that would more pentecostal paganism.

Have you noticed that everybody and their brother worships in what used to be an exclusivly Pentecostal way?

Hands lifted, swaying, clapping, dancing.

Should we be bothered by this?

Should we be glad they're catching on?
I think you'd need to define 'exclusively Pentecostal'. From what I've heard, in 'olden times' all sorts of denominations had old-fashioned shouting services.

We don't see any music of any kind in the book of Acts. We really don't see how the early church worshipped in the book of Acts. Does that mean we shouldn't worship God with music or with emotion?

Get glad Ed...it's the only proper response.

I dunno Prax... the earlier posts were just kid of ribbing about the irony of "the world" adopting "Pentecostal styles" and how we have always been told "Don't be like the world..." It was light hearted talk at first. DG just seems to be pondering the implications.

Many CoC churches refuse to use any musical accompaniment because the NT is silent about it. And those big church organs that later came into vogue? They were invented for use in the pagan Roman circuses.

Christians were slaughtered to the sound of Rome's pipe organs and we brought that sound into the church.

Why do I feel that your last sentence is a logical fallacy?
